Vineyard Information
The Pinot Noir grapes were grown in several different blocks within our Edna Ranch vineyard. Each block is planted to the clone of Pinot Noir which we feel best suited to that particular microclimate (soil, elevation, trellis system, row orientation, and exposure to natural elements.) Essentially, the chosen blocks were made up of the Dijon 115, Pommard, and 2A clones.
Winemaking & Cellar Information
The grapes were 100% destemmed with minimum crushing into both 5-ton temperature controlled, stainless steel fermenters, and 1.5 ton bins. Following the inoculation of a proprietal combination of special wine yeast, the bins were punched down 2-3 times per day depending on the stage of fermentation. At dryness, the wine was transferred to 60 gallon French oak barrrels, where it remained for 11 months until bottling.
